| TM Wins ISL Season One In Exciting Fashion: | September 11, 2008 |
| Unfortunately, I was not around to see it! I had other plans for finals weekend and I wasn't able to be around to see TM cap their undefeated run to a title. I am aware, however, that SN gave them all they had and pushed them to their limits. Both games went into overtime, and I believe that for at least one of the games SN held a lead for a short while. TM's power won out in the end, though, and they captured their league title amidst their first true test as a clan. Congratulations to them. The stats fromt the games are floating around somewhere and I will get them in as soon as humanly possible! Furthermore, congratulations to everyone who participated this season. Your support was appreciated. We broke new ground on this new game, and it was shaky at times but I feel we came through pretty strong given the circumstances. Once again, thanks to everyone who participated/helped and we'll see you next year! posted by: PointBlank | |
| Playoff Seeds and Website: | August 19. 2008 |
| Well it's been a short 6 weeks, and playoff time is here. Even though I still have 3 games to report (I'm a lazy ass, they'll be in tonight.), the seeds are in and are as follows: 1. TM 2. AoA 3. SN 4. 1up 5. db 6. FB 7. TnT 8. AoF I have created a special site, complete with a bracket and playoff scoreboard which can be found here: http://isl.blizzgamers.net/playoffs.php I may add more functionality to the site, possibly tying in clan descriptions when you mouse over the bracket and a couple other ideas. Probably not. The playoff schedule will go up tomorrow most likely. posted by: PointBlank | |
| ScreenCast Reminder: | July 11, 2008 |
| I just want to take the time to remind everyone to keep an eye out for ISL ScreenCast this weekend. Screencast is a way of broadcasting ARC/Spark games that was originally developed by Drue a very long while back. I have decided to revive this form of broadcasting because spectating important games is very fun. I'm going to be testing it a lot today to make sure it is working at the optimal level and we should be good to go by tomorrow. I may do every game, but the one that caught my eye thus far for Saturday is psC vs. SN. On Sunday, eVo vs. AoF and .db. vs. TM look like good candidates. Keep your eyes peeled! Also, I posted this update on the forums but I might as well make note of it here. Obviously, I changed the layout of the ISL site to something more pleasing on the eyes. Feedback is welcome, and I hope everyone likes it. posted by: fruck | |
| Week One in the Books: | July 1, 2008 |
| Well, week one went over with only a few *cough* small hiccups. One being that Spark went down for 6 hours on Saturday. Through all that, we have made it through the first week of season one with one game left to finish and one possible reschedule. Not a bad weekend. Week two is two weeks away, thanks to Independence Day. Everyone stay safe.. because you can't ARC with no hands.

| ISL Season One Clans: | June 22, 2008 |
| Well, the time that everyone has been waiting for has come. I believe every clan that intended to do so got their applications in and we are all set and ready to announce our selections. First, let me make it clear what we based our decision on. We focused on these major categories: stability, longevity, behavior, competitiveness in that order. We weighed the pros and cons of each clan and we came up with our list. If your clan didn't get chosen, please keep in mind that you are automatically ranked as a 'backup' clan should a clan in the league fall on hard times. Anyways, without further ado: Comprising the McCain division.. Tactical Masterminds [TM] - The clan everyone on Spark fears and envies. Without a doubt they are establishing themselves as the first powerhouse on Spark. It shall be interesting to see if they can cement their spot as a juggernaut in ISL. Deez Balls .db. - Their name is pretty retarded, but this clan packs a roster full of talented fraggers. They like to talk a lot and it will be interesting to see how they handle the task of being in the same division as the mighty TM. EvolutionZ (eVo) - eVo comes in with a roster full of guys who never played at the HIGHEST level, but all have competitive experience and if things go right for them they have a chance to make a big splash as an underdog. Apostles of Flame - AoF is a very underrated clan. They have had a lot of under-the-radar longevity and from what I have witnessed thus far on Spark can be very competitive if they choose to be. Don't sleep on these guys. Making their way into the Obama division.. The n00b Team =TnT= - TnT is one of the longest running clans on ARC, and among those long running clans remain one of the most successful. This clans' rich history promises to provide a lot to the ISL and they are definite contenders. Arts of Arc =MiNi= - Their tags no longer make sense, but AoA is a mainstay in the community. From modest beginnings, they have earned their spot as an upper mid-tier clan and have the capability to move beyond even that. Damn Good Arcers [DGA] - As with AoA and TnT, DGA has been around forever. While they may not have the best competitive record, they have had many surprising league seasons in which they have gone so far as to claim championships as the underdog. OneUnderestimatedPosse ^1up - 1up is one of the newer clans making a splash in ISL, but have the drive and determination to make an impact. They may not be among the favorites to win it all, but they will certainly surprise any opponent that takes them lightly. And finally the formidable Paul division: Saucey Nipples [SN] - If you don't know who these guys are, you are new to the game or you've been under a rock. SN has been a powerhouse since before the majority of us played ARC and that doesn't seem to be changing any time soon. Look out. pseudo Carnage :psC: - It was hotly debated whether to allow these guys to compete. It was decided that, despite their lack of time together, they bring a level of competitiveness to the league that is needed. They may lack teamwork now, but a few weeks in these guys can make some moves. Fatal Bubbles [FB] - I like this clan. They seem to be good friends with each other which is very important. They also have some real talent amongst their ranks, and with some gelling and chemistry work they can be a solid playoff clan. *Area51* - I believe these guys are the oldest or 2nd oldest clan still around. They just won't die! They aren't ultra-competitive but they do have a huge roster with some talented pilots and could definitely make their mark if they chose to do so. Plus, they have that euro lag going for them! That's it for the clans, now for the 'backup clans': Band of Maniacal Brothers - You guys are a well-established multi-gaming clan and we wish there was room for a 13th clan in ISL. We know you guys will stick around though, and that's good because we sure would love to see you all competing next season or even this season should a clan drop. Thanks for the app! UAC - A little late on the app, and your clan is pretty new compared to the rest of the competition. We are currently getting our refs completely trained and gathering material for the Journalism site in anticipation of the season. The week 1 and 2 schedules should be up within a day or 2, remember opening day is June 28th and games run from 1-6PM EST! Stay tuned for more updates. posted by: fruck | |
| Clans: | June 17, 2008 |
| Just to clarify, the current divisions and clans on the website are not final. They are just there so we can have the rosters entered and make the website look a little less dead. The official clan list and divisions will be released Monday night, June 23rd. Thanks. posted by: fruck | |
| Welcome: | June 17, 2008 |
| Welcome to the website for Season 1 of ISL. As I said all along, it is nothing spectacular. I have chosen to spend my time working on the backend of the site to add exciting new statistics and features rather than spend time designing a complex layout. If you would be interested in designing us something that stands out more for next season, you can contact me on the forums. The site is about 90% functional. With adding in 3 new stat categories came some headaches so if a few things aren't working, don't freak out. Everything will be running smoothly by opening day. Speaking of which, we are currently planning to play a kick-off game on Monday, June 30th. The following weekend is Independence Day, so there may be 2 monday games after that followed by the first full weekend of games beginning July 11th. Clan applications close Sunday. Ref applications will remain open until we have secured a large enough staff. We are currently short of our goals there. Turbo and Forsaken are still seeking motivated individuals to join the journalism department. That's all for now, check back often for updates! posted by: fruck | |
